One year on, trauma and healing in Syria

the Syrian Network for Human Rights reports that more than 177,000 people are still considered “forcibly disappeared” since the 2011 start of Syria’s war. Their fates are unknown. The watchdog group estimates that al-Assad’s government is responsible for 9 out of 10 of these disappearances, with other parties accounting for the rest.
